I worked with Krysia on a Canadian-produced reality docu-soap series when I was brought on in season two to help shepherd the show. As I am based in Los Angeles, and am not familiar with editors in Toronto, I was extremely thankful that Krysia was on our staff. Not only did she do an excellent job with her own episode, she was also brought on to “save” two other episodes, edited by greener editors.
What I particularly appreciated was the ease with which she understood both broad and specific notes… and then found the best way to address them, given the material, which sometimes includes a better way of addressing a note than the specific suggestion given.

Krysia and I worked collaboratively for the last couple of seasons of Food Network Canada’s highly successful and CSA award winning series, YOU GOTTA EAT HERE! Joining an established show and team can be a daunting task, one that Krysia accepted head on. With great skill and enthusiasm she tackled her role of editor and quickly mastered the nuances of the show, while becoming a reliable team member that the other editors and producers could count on.
As Series Producer, and a former editor, I work very closely with our team of cutters, and Krysia has consistently proven over her time with us to demonstrate a strong visual story telling ability, finding the true stories in the footage supplied. She has an excellent sense of pacing, crafting musical support, and incorporating the natural rhythms of the series’ host and on-screen guest characters.
Piecing together hours upon hours of documentary style footage is often fraught with challenges and Krysia always worked collaboratively to find solutions. She took the lead in negotiating feedback on her footage, but always listened well and worked with my goals in mind. Krysia uses her time effectively and met deadlines when imposed.
My confidence in Krysia’s abilities resulted in a timeless product Food Network can exploit for time to come.
